More than100 top companies are currently exhibiting their cutting-edge technologies and solutions at GoTech 2019, a major gas and oil technology conference taking place from October 21-23 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

This initiative, which has grown tremendously since 2017, is designed to tangibly support the oil and gas industry and enhance matters of mutual benefit and is seen as a powerful platform where the leading players in the oil and gas industry can meet and share their views on moving ahead and addressing issues of common interest.

The 3rd edition of GoTech 2019 was inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance of UAE, Chairman of Dragon Oil.

“In keeping with the vision of our leaders, GoTech 2019 is an event that strengthens the UAE’s position as a global centre of finance, business, investment and trade in the oil and gas sector,” said Sheikh Hamdan.

“Showcasing the latest practical applications in the sector with a focus on spreading technology and innovation and sharing experiences and best practices globally, GoTech 2019 has attracted influential oil and gas professionals from across the globe as well as researchers, specialists and academia. We sincerely hope that this is another successful event that results in ideas, recommendations and constructive proposals that will have a tangible impact in raising the prospects of the petroleum industry.”

Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment for the United Arab Emirates, was the keynote speaker at the Ministerial Talks. His talk focused on global energy transformation to achieve sustainable growth and ensure availability of energy resources at competitive prices.

“Environmental protection and sustainability cannot be a mere trend and here in the UAE we are committed to strengthening the conversation on this front. We have invested heavily in renewable energy and broken the world record for solar power and we see the major strides being taken in the oil and gas sector,” he said.

“From Day 1 we said that we wanted to be different, disruptive and innovative as well as add value to all participants. As ambassadors for change and transformation, our honourable guests and keynote speaker truly exemplify the foresight and vision that the global energy industry needs so we are proud to have them grace GoTech 2019 with their presence,” said Dragon Oil CEO Ali Rashed Al Jarwan.

“150 high calibre and interactive technical papers, a high-level technical conference organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a highly anticipated open plenary session, strong partners including industry giants such as ENOC, Schlumberger, Weatherford and OilServ, not to mention a delegate list that continues to grow.  These developments are encouraging and a clear testament to the growing strength and acceptance of the relevance of GoTech in the sector globally,” added Al Jarwan. – TradeArabia News Service
