Project Overview
Background
Shaza Hotels, an operator supported by Kempinski, is planning to open a new 400-room hotel in Muscat, Oman, by the second quarter of 2022. The project will be part of owner Taameer Investments’ plans to bring around 1,700 upscale hotel rooms into the Oman market within the next four years in a bid to support the plans of the Ministry of Tourism.
The project is to be developed by Zakher Investment, while Taameer Investment SAOC will hold 100 percent ownership. Shaza Muscat will be managed and operated by Shaza Hotels under the Shaza brand as their third property in the country.
Scope of Work
Scope of work includes construction of the following:
- Five-star hotel tower with 250 keys.
- Furnished apartments tower with 150 keys.
- All day specialty restaurants with integrated outdoor seating
- Wedding halls
- Business center and banqueting areas
- Luxurious recreational areas to include health clubs, spa and indoor pools
- State-of-the-art back of house
- Prayer rooms
- Two levels of underground car parking
- Fire and safety
- Security and related amenities

Taameer Investments is financing this project.
Additional Notes
Taameer Investments are planning to build an exclusive hotel in the heart of the cultural district in Muscat. The hotel will be within close walking distance to many tourist hotspots around the city.
Taameer Investment SAOC and Shaza Hotels has also signed an agreement of management at Arab Travel Market 2016 in the presence of Shaikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Qatabi, Oman's Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and other executives from the country.
The agreement was signed by Suleiman bin Masoud Al Harthy, CEO of Taameer Investment SAOC and Simon Coombs, CEO of Shaza Hotels, in the presence of Shaikh Salim bin Ahmad al Ghazali, Chairman of Taameer Investment SAOC.
