Looking at power industry tenders divided by segment as tracked by GlobalData, T&D Equipment was the most popular segment in MEA power tenders activity during Q3, with 77 tenders, followed by T&D Project (65) and Generation Equipment (47).
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
*Supply & Erection: 115 tenders and a 48.3% share
*Project Implementation: 67 tenders and a 28.2% share
*Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: 34 tenders and a 14.3% share
*Consulting & Similar Services: 21 tenders and an 8.8% share
*Power Purchase Agreement: one tender and a 0.4% share.

The top issuers of tenders for the quarter in terms of power capacity involved in Middle East and Africa were:
*National Energy Regulator of South Africa (South Africa): 12,000MW from one tender
*Department of Mineral Resources and Energy: 2,000MW from one tender
*Oman Power and Water Procurement and World Bank Group (US): 1,000MW capacity from a tender.
Looking at the last four-quarter average, South Africa held the top spot with 84 tenders, followed by Oman with 43 and Iraq with 20 tenders, said the report by GlobalData.
