Oman Drydock, Asmed to set up incubator for SMEs


Oman’s Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Asmed) has signed an agreement with Oman Drydock Company, the executive arm of drydock services in Asyad Group to set up an incubator to support SMEs.

The incubator will be specialized in the logistics sector, supply chains, and services affiliated with the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (Opaz), reported Oman News Agency (ONA).

The agreement also aims to provide a stimulating environment and support that guarantee the sustainability of entrepreneurs in various work environments, as well as contributing to the Omani economy.

The agreement comes within the framework of empowering entrepreneurs and boosting their role in developing activities in special economic zones and free zones. This will be realized by providing technical and administrative support to incubated enterprises in order to achieve growth and tackle challenges.

Moreover, the agreement will contribute in providing competitive logistic services based on innovation.

The agreement was signed by Halima Rashid Al Zar’ei, Asmed Chairperson and Dr. Ibrahim Bakhit Al Nadhairi, CEO of Asyad Shipping and Drydock services.
