Schneider Electric has won the Best Employee Benefits and Well Being Strategy Award for the Private Sector at this year’s GCC Gov HR Summit.

The judges commended Schneider Electric for its holistic approach to its employee wellbeing over the past five years; they called out the company’s five-pillar programme that supports employees with their physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing.

The GOV HR Summit 2020 is the Gulf’s signature event for human resource professionals from both the public and private sectors. The summit brings together HR professionals from across the region with the aim of sharing and highlighting best practices.

This year’s event has focused on how to engage employees throughout a year where the world, companies and employees have been impacted by the pandemic.

Over the past five years, Schneider Electric Gulf launched a global Employee Wellbeing strategy. The programme was designed around five pillars: Health & Wellness, Flexibility at Work, Leadership, Organizational Culture and Workspace. The Gulf region launched its own project at the same time, with the aim of supporting over 1,000 employees throughout the region.

In October 2018, Schneider Electric Gulf implemented six Flexibility@Work principles that allow all employees to work remotely, enjoy flexible start and end hours of their day, utilize two additional floating days off over and above 24 days of vacation leave, benefit from a flexible dress code and allow for twenty paid working hours dedicated to volunteering work.

“We measure our corporate success by the wellbeing of our people,” said Natalja Kissina, VP Human Resources, Schneider Electric Gulf. “Healthy, happy people are the basis for a productive workplace, and our strategy has been to ensure we are doing all we can to help our people physically, mentally and emotionally. We’re delighted to win this award. What matters most to us is how our people feel, and we’ll continue to prioritize their wellbeing throughout 2020 and beyond.” -- Tradearabia News Service
